Bellringers from Brisbane, Sydney and Perth came to Maryborough on Saturday 19 March 2011, to ring a muffled peal in observance of the 125th anniversary of the death of Maria Aldridge, in whose memory the tower and peal were donated by her husband Edgar Aldridge.
